I have several other hobbies/interests other than airguns, firearms
and big bore desert bikes. One of which is electronics and collecting
vintage equipment.
This Fluke automotive 86 is one of my favorites. It measures:
-AC/DC Volts, Amps, Milliamps, Frequency in Hz and pulse width at
different slopes in milliseconds user switchable between digital or
analog signals (for fuel injection timing and tuning), Resistance with
optional continuity, RPM for 2 or 4 stroke engines, Duty cycle (dwell)
and temperature in degrees F or C.
It also has an info hold button, Auto or user zero, 10,000 Ω internal
resistance, Auto/manual range control, user selectable trigger and
Min/Max/Arerage feture with audible range exceed alert.
When they first came out in 1983 they listed at $399.99. They
ceased production in 1989. They are kind of hard to find, but
have laboratory grade accuracy and are very useful for many
other things beside the automotive work that they were designed
to do.
These are the probes. a thermocouple.
Seen here measuring a glass of hot tap water.
An Amp Clamp for amperage measurements (dwell/duty cycle,RPM,
AC Amps)
And these, Which are Left to right, top to bottom: Extra supple test
leads for interchangable probes. Lead probes are as follows: Wire
piercing straight probes, circut board pin grbbers, Extra aggressive
alagator clips, Long reach wire sorting/grabbing/piercing probes,
extended mini alagator clips and Long reach IC pin grabbers.

As for me:
Bicycles - I still ride the Dawes Galaxy that I bought in 1973.
Shortwave Radio - Not so much any more, but I built my first 2 tube regenerative set in 1966. I lived in Guatemala for a time, and I could get the Minneapolis station on 830 KHz with a Slinky dipole antenna.
Paper Airplanes - Both folded paper and laminated poster board.

Yeah, I like Tull too.
I used to race downhill on an Intense M1,
but after a bad crash at 60+ mph in a rocky section and pulling
my hip out of joint my wife insisted that I stick to my less life and
limb threatening pastimes.
I sold the M1 but kept my 1999 Raliegh
Team Issue that I use for plonking around the tails on. |

Your wife may have a point. Things can happen quickly on an uneven surface at 60 m.p.h. My fastest was when I was 17 years old - 50 m.p.h. on a Huffy 3 speed with a pace car alongside. Even with the nice flat asphalt I was puckering hard enough to pull the rivets right out of that Troxel saddle.
My wife is the same about motorcycles. She wears my bike on her finger - the summer we got engaged the money would have gone for a bike had it not gone for the ring. Now they are verboten.
I restored the Dawes a few years back. The Reynolds tubing people sent me a complete set of stickers to replace the ones that were lost when I stripped the frame. Not period correct, but they are correct for the grade of tubing in my frame. Nice people. |

2nd Land Brown Bess (Petrosoli Repro)
.75 caliber smoothbore (11 gage)
Bayonet lug removed and blade sight installed up front. Browned barrel, Honed and chromed bore. Tuned lock.
It's my "everything gun". Hunt mostly swamps, can't see much past 30 yds. Shoots .715 ball w/ 110 grs. 2Fg powder.
Also use it with Bismouth shot on ducks, and geese. Mostly jump shooting in field and swamp streams.
Also works on pheasant, rabbit, squirrels, yotes, etc.
Excellent Bambi Slayer in the swamps & heavy cover.
Lots of fun. Definately strikes up conversations in the field. |

That's one of the things that I didn't add to the list yet. But thanks for mentioning it, because it's one of those bands I tend to forget a bit about. |
