Ok guys. Here are my first couple of projects I made in my new little shop. I'm still getting the feel of the machine, but it's really nice, and works very well. Hope you enjoy.and there's more to come.

Nice Lathe/Pillar drill! Mr. Green
It definitely looks a capable machine, I look forward to seeing some more of the workpieces you make with it.

Stevie Thumb Up!

btw, It's a good idea to get in the habit of removing the chuck tool after using it Wink

BTW Richard,

I am looking at the same machine. It's less expensive than to fix my old lathe.. Habor Frieght has them for around $500.00

Let me know how it does before I pull the trigger on buying one in about a month.

Joe

Free Hand milling is fun!

Get a rotory table for your curves & Indexing... $100 through Harbor Freight... or $125 through little machine shop...

Make a tool rest and a sharp Live End & you can turn wood on it too... Milling hard wood is just as fun. Just go slow with the big bits...

This fore stock was done 100% with my milling attachment & router bits.

Excuse me while I clean the drool off my keyboard. It's a Pavlovian response to nice stuff.

Not heavy enough for milling steel.... I have done some Aluminum with it, but it pushes it to its limits.

http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/displayitem.taf?Itemnumber=94276

EVERY DRILL PRESS BECOMES A MILLING MACHINE WITH A BITMOORE VISE
Use your drill press for precision milling and drilling in wood or plastic.
Quick, accurate multiple positioning
Precision machined cast iron body
Extra wide secure travel
5" adjustable jaws
56" square X and Y movement
Movement calibrated to scales
Weight: 26.40 lbs.
Travel: 8'' (X), 7'' (Y); Capacity: 5''; Jaw width: 3.638''.
ITEM 94276-2VGA
$54.99

I also have two Cross Slide Vises, one in 4" and the other in 6". Great for locating and milling on the drill press. They are a littlel heaver duty and work great if you have enough depth on your drill press. The 6", has to mount, off set on mine to clear the post. TheY sit lower on the drill press than the Milling Vise, which allows me to work on larger pices.

I bougt the 4" on e-bay for $0.99 + $25 shipping... (I was the only bid)
The 6" @ the Harbor Freight store in Roseville, CA. on sale for $45.00
