I have an old pump (single stroke) air rifle I believe my father brought back from Japan when he was in WWII.

It is marked as a Star M Brand "Diana" on top of the barrel over the trigger area and there is also some Japanese writing about midway on the barrel, also on top.

Is anyone familiar with this air rifle? It's age, caliber, etc.?

Pictures would help!

Diana is a German brand though, so I'm pretty much wondering what kind of thing it is.

Had a down load problem with the camera/computer. As soon as I get that straight I'll send pics.

I think the "Diana" is a model not a brand name. Seems Star M Brand is the brand name.

Please post pictures when you can.

"Star" was a company that made regular firearms- many, if not all of their models had an "M" as part of their name/designation. It seems doubtful they made their own airgun, and companies like Diana have historically sold their guns to other companies to sell with their own name put on them. So- you do likely have a Diana of some sort...
