Fairly new to adult airguns here, but I do have some experience with powderburners. I just want to get this straight. I know that a springer will eat a scope not designed for airguns. But it is okay to mount any scope on a PCP? I have a Discovery on the way and I'd like to avoid having to buy a new scope, since I have several decent ones just gathering dust, but I'm not willing to roach any of them. |

Discovery doesn't have a scope eating recoil issue. A Super Streak on the other hand . . .
As long as it has parallax adjustment, you should be able to clean the bore and start shooting 1 ~ 2 moa groups with some of the heavier pellets . . .
When the rain gives me a chance, I'll try to sight in the one I got in Little Rock {actually Benton} last month . . . |

Many modern scopes not specifically rated for spring-type airguns should hold up behind most spring guns, excluding perhaps some of the more harsh-recoiling springers like the Diana/RWS 350.
As J. had indicated, a PCP (or a Co2 or a pump-type) airgun do not have recoil like that on a springer, or a regular powder-burner- so any of your existing scopes should be fine. |
