Carpenter Bee Control
1) Target to download and print: Week 39; Jun/03>Jun/08/2008

Print to full-size on an A4 or 8.5"x11" sheet of paper.
2) Shooting distance is 5m/16.4ft for pistols.
3) Shooting distance is 10m/32.8ft for rifles.
4) Any sighting device may be used.
5) NO rests or steadying aids are allowed.
6) 10 shots at targets, 1 per bee. 5 sight in/practice shots not on the clock using another print.
7) 10 minutes total time (take whatever amount of time for each shot you like, but at 10 minutes-stop!).
8) Scoring is 10 points for a head shot, 1 point for a body shot. Only one shot per bee counts. Maximum point count is 100.
9) Entries need to be scanned or photographed and posted. Please list gun, pellet, sighting device and total time expended.
10) You can enter using both pistol and rifle as separate entries- but all rules must be followed for each.
11) Score your own target. Winner and Runner-Up will be verified by board officials.
12) This is an honorable contest for sport- if you lie or cheat, you are the only one who really loses. Please keep it above-board!
13) Each competition runs from Monday to Sunday. Your entry must be posted in the forum no later than 23:00 GMT Sunday.
14) These rules are for this week's shooting competition and may change for others.

I think it is fair to call this a 14/100- not sure how the rules go as far as "misses" that become "hits" on another target. low score, but i am posting it so all other low score people will have no shame- I always tell my son the old adage- its not whether you win or lose, but how you play the game- and do your best, and you Are a winner. anyway, this is only my 4th day shooting- I'm a newbie for sure- so I am just happy to get one honest head shot. will keep on shooting every week, because it is really fun- thanks for providing this resource. so, I was using a Daisy 747,one handed, regular sights, crossman competition pellets, 5 meteres, 6 minutes to complete.

Naynay-----it will help us see your shots if you put a bright contrasting color paper behind your target.

Hopefully I'm back shooting for a while now, I've been fitting a new kitchen for the last three weeks, and what with bad weather and bits everywhere it's not been possible to shoot, on top of that my printer as decided to run out of red ink so we have a serialistic target this week.

A day late and a dollar short, as they say - but I finally found time to do it, so here it is. Marksman 2004/BSA red dot @ 5 meters w/RWS Meisterkugeln 8.2 grains/standing+2 hands. Score=35/100

Well, I have always Been interested, but have been gun shy about "real" guns- never felt like it would be safe to have one in the chaos of my house-figured someone I know would end up getting shot , and besides, my big pooch will protect me-(thats Jake, right over there <--) I had a BB gun as a kid (did Not shoot my eye out.. Laughing

) and i was a pretty good shot with the thing. and over the years, I have had opportunity to shoot at the range with friends that Did have "real" guns- and I was still a pretty good shot. Anyway, I've always been a competative person- swimming, rugby, softball,etc but have gotten to old and beat up for any of that stuff. Plus whenever I watched the Olympics as a kid, I wanted to be there- participate. so as an adult I realized that shooting was an Olympic sport, and figured I'd give it a try someday. I figured skeet- that looks like fun. anyway, I was looking into Olympic shooting and realized that they have air gun catergories- I got stoked because I Do feel comfortable with an air gun on the premises, And I can practice at home. Gun selection wise, I did a lot of research, and tho I wanted an IZH 46- I knew it was out of my budget- the 747 is even out of my budget purchased new. I am semi employed at the moment, so money is Tight. Anyway I kept looking for a used 747- which I chose for being an accruate but inexpensive gun to start out with- and I never saw one. One day I realized that there were probably lots of them out there that had taken second string as their owners moved up to better guns- so I put a wanted ad on one of the classified sites, and found a kind soul in texas who sold me his for 50 bucks plus shipping. Happy day for me! I also want a rifle, but figure I can wait on that- for now I am happily shooting my 747 and improving every sigle day. the bad news is there are Very limited opportunities to shoot competativly here in the great and soggy state of WA- though being half an hour from "Oh Canada" gives me more options. So I'm glad to have y'all to chat with, and shoot with. thats my story, and I'm stickn to it.
