i'm shooting the G1 off my deck as we speak using the rail as a rest.
if the gun hits the rail with more force then say touching a new baby on the head then the barrel breaks a tiny bit.
is there a way to adjust the barrel lock?
once the barrel moves the tiny bit i put it back and it shoots fine, or seems to.
it just seems to me that it shouldn't move at all.
when they say buying the G1 is hit or miss, i missed.
i would return it to wal mart but they are not selling them anymore and i bought the last one they had, it was a display and i have a feeling that one of high school kids that works there probably took a few dry shots with it.
when i first got the gun it was shootin groups the size of my head, i found that the pivot screw was loose so i added loc tite and tightend it good, it is still tight.
i can hit a beer can at 60yrds as many times as i shoot at it.
(it took nearly 1500 rounds to get to this point)
so i think the gun is not that bad off. |

Shim the detent spring a bit to get the barrel to tighten up a bit (not too much or it'll be extremely hard to break the barrel to load/cock it.
See the diagram, part #9 is the spring that can be shimmed to tighten things up:

It looks like the barrel pivot holds the detent plunger
in. You could also try different rate/length springs behind
the detent plunger. |

| You need to remove the stock and then the barrel and the attached barrel-to-receiver block, then remove the pin that holds the detent (#11) in the block to insert shims, or as CW suggested, insert a different, stronger spring. |

Please download photos of your testing the rifle on the babies head. This sounds like a new test that I want to try but I want to make sure I do it correctly! How old must the baby be? |
