Well Guy's, I changed the 14" barrel to a 24" one, and just switched over the muzzlebrake. How does it look?, What I wouldn't mind doing is getting a shroud put on it, or just an extra long m/b, or should I just leave it alone?,,Anyway's, I've made a few observations with this new barrel, Accuracy has not diminished , but after I fire a pellet through it, I've noticed the lack of any rifling grooves on spent rounds, another thing I've noticed is that I can't use H&N Rund-Kugeln's anymore, they just fall through the barrel now, Did I get a lemon or are all 24" 2260 barrels a tad larger , say 5.51mm?, any info will sure be appreciated, Thank's, Andy.

Barrels, especially Crosman units, seem to have a fairly wide tolerance in respect to manufacturing. If the barrel crown was good, you apparently only got a barrel that was a bit on the 'wide' side. Some seem to also come in a bit narrow. Like any airgun, you need to experiment to find the optimum pellet for it (-again- now that it has a different barrel).

How did changing from a 14" barrel to a 24" barrel affect power output, or did it?

Looks pretty good- sort of a funky synthetic stock 2260. Does the pipe insulation stay put, or move around alot on you?

Hey there SWL,I bought the barrel from "scopesandammo.com", Great selection, and great pricing. I would say it's one of the best on-line a/g dealer/suppliers out there, a real class act.
Eric, thank's for the info, and I do think the power level went up a bit, but w/out a chrono it's hard to judge with just a phonebook test. I did do a penetration test with the 14" barrel, and then the 24" barrel, I did manage to gain about 100 pages, or so with an 11gr. "Skenco", so I figure I got an extra 50-100fps out of the switch. With the 14" barrel it was chrono'd @ just over 600fps w/ Beeman Lasers last spring. I think it must be shooting @ the 700fps mark now using lead, which is ok by me since I only hunt with Lead Free pellet's, and with a 20% boost in the velocity dept,. I should be getting around 850fps Exclamation Shocked , Cool ,LOL, Cheer's, Andy.
