do NOT have a mil dot reticle? Could I use a nikon on a condor? I want something with at least a 40mm objective lens

I use my Condor for hunting and pest control and find that a mildot
scope is not up to the task. So I put a 4x12x40 Bushnell Elite, that
has a muti-X reticle, on it and have never regretted it.

As you can see I have had success with it.

Condor is a PCP you can put whatever you want for a scope on, make sure it will parrellex down to your minimum range.

That's true, any scope will not be damaged by the Condor,
but IMO...

The Condor warrents good glass. I see a lot of people pay
the Condor price and then skimp by putting put a real cheap
scope on it.

This is the general theme over at the Talon forum. They spend
all that on an Airforce gun and then pay a couple of hundred to
have this guy alter the looks of it and then they put a Barska or
Leapers on it. Now mind you, there is nothing wrong with either
of these brands. It just seems that after spending all that, a
person would want a comprarable scope on it. It's like putting Toyo
tires on a Ferarri 308 GTS instead of Pirellis.

Somebody told me once that a rule of thumb is to pay as much for optics as you did for the gun. I confess that I only have one gun where that's true, but I can see the wisdom in it. Cheap optics on a great gun imposes a handicap from the start.

I got an N2Optics scope, 3-9X40 with ilumminated tactical something reticle (the same as in Call Of Duty 4 Mr. Green

) It performs quite well up to 50 meters, and has all the silly gizmos you need. It's pretty cheap too, but I don't know what they cost where you live. Neutral

Get one of those scopes with the huge wheel on the side of them. Because it is really necessary to have a scope with a huge wheel on it.

I will second that pay as much for the optics "if not more" as you did for the gun. Nothing is as frustrating as having poor optics to deal with while your trying to enjoy yourself, in my case it`s a mental thing. Yeah I hear you,but they haven`t locked me up yet.

I just recieved my new Leapers 8-32 X 56. It is quite good. It will parralax down to 10 yards. (got a BIG WHEEL TOO!) about $250

I think the "big wheel" came from field target competition, where some use the parallax adjustment as a range finder. You put a piece of tape on the wheel and write in the range calibrations. A big wheel has more room to do this.

An informal survey at my daughter's university declared my guns "visually excessive." Someday I may get a "big wheel" and show them what visually excessive really is.

Those wheels are also good for quick zooming, but they still look like a hip-hop-star hummer accessory to me.

Not hip-hop at all! In field target competition it is not uncommon to have to "place" your pellet through a 3/8ths hole at distances anywhere from 7 yards to 55 yards. Sometimes this will need to be done in one "lane" so range estimation is critical. It does not go to far to say that Airgun Field Target top shooters at the national level are the most accurate shots in airgunning! Thier equiptment is very specialized and the "wheel paralax adjustment" is just one of many! If you want to see a top notch Field Target Rifle go to Mac-1 airguns and click on the Mac-USFT project. FT is a very specialized case. I'm a more "generalist" shooter. I've been thinking that a Mr. Coffee or a George Foreman Grill installed on my gun would be more useful than a "big wheel."
