With the 20 cal you get the best of both worlds...speed and knock down power. You can always order a .22 cal barrel later if you want it. _________________ I done been assisted by the trees and rivers. There barrels screw in to a couple bushings in the receiver and thats about it. It takes less than ten minutes to swap them out. According to Airforce, the stats for talons look like this: .177 - max power 1100 fps .20 - max power 950 fps .22 - max power 850 fps You may be thinking of the Condor which is 1250 fps in .22. Not sure what the point is though. It's as loud as a .22 rimfire and three times more expensive. I got the talonss because I need it to be quiet. I might as well just completely mack out a 10/22 than drop almost $1000+ for a gun that I cant shoot in city limits anyway. It also releases a lot more air per shot which results in more air turbulence and noise. A lot more. I have some pretty quiet springers so I know how quiet an airgun can be. Even with my talonss at 3/4 power, it is still borderline as far as it making too much noise and drawing unwanted attention. You could shoot subsonic and lower the power on the Condor, but it will still be very loud for an airgun. _________________ I done been assisted by the trees and rivers. A .22 of course will give you more flexability, all other things being equal.
