J, It is shooting 610-615(7.9gr) consistantly.About 100 shots thru the chrony and it never veried past those numbers I'v heard a JM Merlin spring with 1 1/2 coils cut off will take it up to 750fps. with out affecting accuracy, but it shoots so nice I think I'll leave it alone. Man you talk about a tack driver !! Now this one is a for real tack driver.It will out shoot you!! Seriously!! .Smooth as a baby's butt ,beautiful trigger very light in the gram weight pull and recoiless.It don't get no better than that. It does not seem to care about pellet choice either. The cutout in this one restricts velocity to 575fps, which the Germans often say is optimum speed for match wadcutters. I aint gonna argue, since both the LGR as well as the FWB300 will outshoot me and most everyone I've met {with the obvious exception of the Olympic medalists I know} so for me I just get the 'dumb grin' when I can 'keep it in the black', which is usually only about a 50% score . . . This thing is to heavy!!,, its going to be a real job to shoot! But after you shoulder these rifles the feel and balance seem to make the weight un-noticable.You Too?Or is it just me? The Quest at half the weight is harder to steady when shooting offhand. I can really appericate the extra weight when shouldered as it seems to help steady the muzzle while on target. The LGR is a little tougher to use, but it too is superbly accurate. The Diana 6m and Hyscore 816 are very similar feeling shot cycles to the 300 due to the spring motion. Very little of that seems to transfer to the pellet though . . . One day I'll likely run across a Diana 66 or 75 that makes the trip away with me - although I may have to get them to ship, since Little Rock and Roanoke are penciled in as 'bike trips' for this year . . .
