I happen to have a Vz 35 Czech pre WW11 training airgun rifle patterned exactly like a Mauser 98. Complete with all the stamps from the manufacturer, it’s in pristine shape except the butt plate has a bit of tarnish. The blue on the receiver and barrel is 100% intact, the pneumatics are in perfect working order. It feeds through a top hopper behind the front site that holds 4.40 lead balls. It has all the aspects of a Mauser, with dual sling swivels, long range sights, and bayonet lug. Somebody out there must want this air gun more than I do. The serial number suggests it was one of the last 50 made. Anyone know anyone who has dreamed of owning this collector’s item?

There's no date stamped, simply the ser# 9816. As these were (by my research) pre-WW11, I can guess it was in the last batch made by:
CESKA ZBROJOVKA
A.S. VPRAZE.
The retail value is about $450, considering it's condition, which is far better than most of these clunkers offered for sale. I'll let it go for $400 and throw in a bag of 4.40 pellets and pay the shipping charges.

You're right, Slavia - The 4.4 mm is actually a round ball, like a BB but just a tad smaller than the usual 4.5 mm (.177 cal.). I edited the original post to reflect the differentiation between pellets and round balls. Appreciate the input. |

I didn't see anywhere to indicate it was sold, other than my post. Hurtak did buy it, received it in perfect condition and it is now in his collection. |
