@ Todd.... I knew I had to get out of Kalifornia when they banned having rifle racks in your back pickup window... They call it "brandishing"...

Did you know open carry of unloaded handguns are legal here?
There's been public protesting. Like an unloaded hangun does what? |

The definition of a "Un-loaded gun" here is... "the safety is on"...
"Open Carry" with one in the chamber is the norm in Idaho.... |

I like the fact that we have public jail rosters...
If ya get detained for any reason, in any of the county jails... your name is on the website for anyone to see...
Convictions are posted in the local papers..
Now we just need public hangings.... What a great crime deterrent... |

I've been a proponent of bringing back public executions for years. Not hanging though. It's too iffy. A good electric chair is good enough. I also like firing squads. Maybe the guillotine? |

Okay a-little rant about California.....
I went into a local Sportsman Headquarters to pick up some Co2,and a few tins of pellets.I'm 40 years old, have grey in my goatee, and was carded during the purchase....
The young lady at the counter was maybe 19.I realize it's Company procedure, and that their computer system is set up so it won't allow people to buy air gun related products without showing ID,but it goes to show us all how it is in Cali.Is society safer here because rules, and laws have become more strict?...of course not...
I have a-lot of respect for LE,and what they contend with on a daily basis...that being said... a black market AR-15 painted neon green, with pink polka-dots is still an AR-15. |

Here's what I think.
California is pretty densely populated (I think, I'm not that well read so I'll just throw some stuff on the table), this means that there's a lot of crime and poverty. The more people you put together, the more "steamy" it gets. That's just how people work.
Do something about that poverty, and crime rates will go down. The sociƫty will become more healthy.
A health care system (that everyone pays for with taxes) ups the general standards and lowers poverty. Crime get's a lot less of a chance. (We see this in my country). Sure, a whole load of that cash will go to some alcoholic who never gets better, but without a system like that I wouldn't be here either. (I went to a special school, funded by the government, I have special aides because I have special needs, funded by the government).
For a system like this you don't have to prohibit anything. If the people are happy, there is lesser stress, and lesser stress means better times with the peepz. |

In theory.... We are the biggest welfare state. It doesn't get paid back
by recipients. our state gvmt is way oversized. We have the largest number of tax funded lawyers of any state in the country.
Really, to explain in detail is too much typing. We just accrued more than half of the $12billion defecit thru temp tax hikes. Lets see which hole that money gets pissed thru. The middle income here
is $12/hr. A 1 bedroom apartment not in the ghetto is around $1200/month. This ship is sinking.
IIRC: Canada has 25 million people. I think Ca has 30 million.
Maybe visa-versa. |
