I need some help in identifing an airgun. Any info would really be greatly appreciated.

- On one side on top of the trigger it's stamped "Mark VII"
-On the other side on top of trigger "PAT PEN S NO 01800"

That is all the info I have.

That is an odd looking thing, isn't it?

I wonder if it is a modification using the frame from one gun, the funky tank and barrel being added on (?)

Lol, it's def. odd looking...That was my first thought too.. a modification. But looking at it closely, I'm pretty sure it's not a modification. ...just can't figure it out or find anything on "Mark VII" like this.

If it is a pellet gun as against an "Airgun" where do you put the pellets in?

Or have I missed something? Question

Excellent question, Al. I knew something was bothering me about it when I looked at the photos. There also doesn't appear any way to cock it. Is there a hole under that "clip" at the breech, maybe BB sized? What caliber is the barrel? Could it be a muzzle loader? (Seems unlikely.) Is the barrel rifled? It has a front sight, so it's meant to be aimed, but no rear sight, so maybe not meant to have any great accuracy. Could it be an early model "Super Soaker"; fill the cylinder part way with water, then fill with compressed air? Or insecticide instead of water, as for spraying wasp's nests?

There doesn't seem to be anywhere to cock it and no place to insert a BB. Unless it's through the barrel itself (muzzel loaded). The barrel is not rifled. ....maybe it is a "Super Soaker".... Question

The knurled knob can be screw in and out but not pulled. The more I screw the button in the harder the button on the left hand side of the trigger gets, as I loosen the screw the easier it gets to push the side button... It almost looks like it may control the pressure of tank/velocity, but not sure.I've added some more pics.......by the way thank you all for all of your imput.

Beats the heck outta me! I do know that if it were in front of me I wouldn't be able to stand it, I'd have that sucker torn down to it's component pieces to try and figure it out. (That's not advice! Just what my curious/impatient self would do...and probably round off/strip all of the fasteners, not to mention losing the spring and two ball bearings that flew off into three corners of the room, thereby rendering any value it had worthless...)

Well, apparently it is a muzzle-loader. I suspect it was meant (as others have pointed out) for some specific purpose- not just shooting pellets or BBs.

Can you tell what caliber/size that barrel is?

It does appear that the "Front sight" is actually a lug to lock the barrel into something, it has a hook on top which would latch on to a rail or adapter for a vets dart gun.

Load the dart barrel up then latch it on to the power unit? Idea

@ Bozo- That's prob. what I am going to end up doing if I don't find out the the hell yhis thing is.

It could a dartgun of some sort. The barrel is 1/2 inch in dia.

When I looked it over with a mag. glass. I was able to see some stamped number on the tank, so I used some sandpaper to scratch the black surface (combination of dirt and paint I guess).

Not sure if any of this makes any difference.

Tank markings are propritary to the tank manufacture. Most are S/N, date code and DOT numbers.

If there is a Tank manufacture stamped into it... You can follow up with them to find out who the tank was produced for.
