As a kid, around 10ish and 12ish, I used to have this friend and he had an airgun. IZH break barrel, under 500 fps. We had a lot of fun with it. Before and after school we'd go out and shoot it.
Live has took us apart, and I forgot about airguns completely. Then I discovered the pleasure again when I stumbled upon cobraguns site. I got me two cheap guns, and fun continues. Though it's not as fun as it used to be! |

Well, you just might find a gun that does hit the spot. |

Insanity is my reason for airgunning. Every last one of you is guilty also. |

Just for interest- what is everyone's primary reason for being a part of the airgunning world?
Targets, hunting, modification, and so on.
Click on the poll- and if you like, post up a picture relating to your primary function- i.e. a target grouping, a dead squirrel, you favorite altered gun, a picture of you and your shooting club buddies or your clubhouse, etc. |
all of the "above mentioned in the poll" ,,,,thanks |

There's many reasons I like air gunning.
The primary reason is hunting. To me, target shooting is fun, but the ability to be able to put those skills to a real world application is the real thrill. To have something to show for my time and experience, like a nice fat rabbit or squirrel from which I can get meat and hides from. Not much goes to waste with me.
With my new job, it's hard to get out to the range whenever I want, but I can simply go onto my back porch to shoot my air rifles before work.
Hunting with an air rifle is also pretty cheap. The challenge of getting close enough, and then making the perfect shot is what keeps me coming back. |

Every since I was about 8 years old I wanted a bb gun. But my mom thought I'd shoot my eye out.
So, I didn't get my first gun until I was about 15. I must have finally wore her down with my never ending begging.
My first gun was a Daisy 880. I wore the thing out after about 15 years.
I loved the nostalgia of having had that gun for so many wonderful years I went out immediately and bought another 880.
I still own that gun to this day and find it fun to mess with.
I was recently given a Crosman 140. I mailed it off and had it gone over with new seals, etc.
It's just plain fun and now my kids are shooting airguns. It gives us something to do together. You gotta love that. |

i have drifted in and out of air guns over the years.
i've now made the decision and have ordered a PCP rifle.
i have two barrel cockers right now that are super...a beeman R10 and a beeman RX-1 but...i found that i lean towards a fixed barrel now, hence the PCP.
i also believe the current occupant of the white house will start making it very hard on firearms and firearms owners; legislators don't feel as threatened by air guns as they do firearms.
small game hunting and target/plinking are my interests of airgunning. |

my interest in guns is on an obsessive level. i started with both firearms and airguns when i was 6 years old. i've never been without either. airguns are more facinating becuase they are very mathematically complex.
plus killing rodents is mighty fun! |

like many others here i enjoy many and varied shooting pursuits...mainly archery.
i have, and enjoy shooting, modifying, hunting with and owning all of them.
archery and airgunning are the least intrusive into the legislative world at the moment...you know, someone sees you coming out of the woods with a bow and they say/think: "oh, it's just a bow 'n' arrow" so not too much attention is paid to the bow by legislators and LE. on the other hand, look at how paranoid they are over AR's and semi-auto handguns: "OMIGOSH! he has an AR! he MUST be a terrorist!" pretty well describes the thoughts and actions of many, if not most, legislators.
many, if not most, people have a very difficult time in differentiating between an AG and a firearm most of the time. look how many people have been shot and in many instances, killed, when carrying an airgun that was mistaken for a firearm.
basically...i can shoot my bow and airguns in my back yard without SWAT, cops, paratroopers, FBI, marines, sheriff, hiway patrol, BATF, DEA, DOJ showing up... |

because guns have always been fascinating, and whats better than having one quiet enough to be able to set up a target in the backyard and not have anyone else in the house know you're shooting from inside?
plus its a very inexpensive way to hunt small game, and much quieter than a .22 |
