I recrowned the barrel of my 1077 using the method in the sticky posted here- and it worked great. Before re-crowning, the rear sight was positioned somewhat askew to one side and was set at an elevation to raise the barrel. After re-crowning I set the sight up dead-centre and with neutral elevation as a starting point- and the rifle was as accurate as it was previously- and I haven't even tuned/set the sight properly yet.
Also- I took off the front site and put some fairly thick insulation around the barrel to keep it from wiggling (plumbing pipe type insulation, cut-down)- which is where it is required- the rear of the barrel can't move based on its mounting. The info I gathered at other sites seemed to indicate that either the entire barrel should be stabilized or at least the rear- but this is just dead-wrong- only the front of the barrel needs to be stabilized in the barrel tube- everything else is a waste of energy and resources (I tried it).
I don't have a pic of my 1077, but here's a generic pic pulled from Crosman with an AirSource attached to it.
