Hey gents, got a question for you hunters. My grandma lives in town, somewhere here in the great Commonwealth of Kentucky, (PERSEC). For years, (essentially the whole time she, and then my late grandfather, have lived here), there has been a problem with having mass amounts of birds congregate on tele lines and trees, rooftops, etc... leaving a mess and devouring grass seed, not to mention they are annoying. They don't sound nice, like a song bird would, they are just annoying, nothing else to be said about them. Large amounts of useless chirping that is disturbing any time you are outside her house. I don't know what type of birds they are, and weather or not i can shoot them. They are black, and small, and that is all that i know. Any idea on where i could get info on whether or not i can take some of these suckers out? I have 500 Crosman hollow-points and a virgin 1077 waiting to get some pot shots in....
Thanks for any help ahead of time! |

You may also want to look into re-crowning the barrel of your 1077- they are notorious for having poor crowns from the factory (do a search for "barrel re-crowning" on the forum and a few things will pop up to assist you). |

Any bird that sits on my tile roof and poops on it is a pest in my book. I did not pay 675K for my Mediterranean style house just to let stupid pigeons turn my red tile roof into a messy mosaic. |

We have wood peckers that tear up the eves of my house.
My red dot scope is the best targeting optics for them as they tend to jump arround quite a bit. The funny thing is that they are stubborn enough that if you miss, they come right back... For another shot...
We also have a family of hawks in one of our trees. They are a big No, No!
They kill the field mice, rats, & snakes, ect... That makes them my friends... Besides that they are cool to watch when they hunt.
My biggest game is Limb Rats... A.K.A. Squerrels...
So... Limb Rats & Woodys....
You deserve a "Break" today...

Good thing I'm not a hunter then isn't it.
My dad used to take rabbits and squirrels with a Crosman 760, im not going to be taking out anything until i get more practice, but when i get to the point with the 1077 like i had gotten on my old 760, (IE bottle caps with BBs and iron sites at 30 feet), then ill give these pesties a go.
I'm probably going to actually stay away from optics, (i just prefer irons), unless i can find a dovetail to weaver adapter, that way i could mount my old Leapers on it.
Tree rats aren't a problem around here, i would take some out and eat em, but my late grandfather loved the squirrels, he too hated the birds because they would eat all of the squirrels corn. I don't want to ruin what he started on that subject, just out of sheer respect and love for him. Now, stray cats on the other hand...... |

Where did you get that muzzle brake?
Does it help any? Or just cosmetic?
Im thinking of doing a camo job on mine, i want to get a few more rounds through it, and some more painting practice first though. |

Yes it helps.
It's realy cool to watch the gasses go up and back when it's still a little chilly in morning.
It's noticable for about the first dozen or so shots on a fresh 12gm Co2. Then you just forget it's there... Still have not tested it with AirSource 88gm...
I just picked up the Bluing chemicals yesterday. So maybe by Sunday night I will post a pict with it blued.
I am picking up a new Drill Press with milling table next week... So more flute styles & Lenghts to come...
They are steel so they protect the end of the barrel very well. |

I hit a 6" target at 45 yards from my back porch using the Red Dot and a shooting stick 10 out of 12 shots.
Zoomed in...

How much would one of your brakes, (blued), run me, or do you not sell them? |
