Omigod. I shot this dove yesterday at about 10 yards with my talon. I aimed right for the back of the head, but I guess my gun was shooting low. As you can see, hit it in the neck and took its head clean off. I didn't even notice the blood spray until after I went over to examine it. That in itself is amazing. Like something out of the movie Kill Bill. They do have very tiny necks so I'm not surprised my 20 cal cut right through it, but it had to be just perfect to make a clean break like that. Incredible nonetheless.

So, do you think that you have a higher kill ratio
now, with the Talon?

The destruction ratio is higher too. Aren't kills supposed to be clean?

Say, hunting out of season isn't very ethical, let alone legal, now is it?

broommaster2000,

Your posts were not necessary.

My hunting is done on private property. I have the right to do what I want on my own land, within reason. Hunting birds is within reason.

Call Az game & fish, they'd like to know.

In the real world it is called poaching, and has nothing whatsoever, to do with responsible game management.
Game bird wings are collected for examination for a reason. A poached bird would only be examined when a poacher is prosecuted for Game theft.

It is each hunter's responsibility to protect our hunting heritage. You can help ensure responsible hunting by reporting violations to our Operation Game Thief hotline 1-800-352-0700.

Unfortunate incidents and oversights do occur. If you should find yourself in violation of any laws or rules while hunting please contact the Operation Game Thief hotline to report it. It certainly is more beneficial to report a violation yourself than have a Game Ranger discover it in the field, or have another party report it, and is certainly more understandable to the judicial system and the Arizona Game and Fish Commission."
