"Silencer" is probably inappropriate - it should be called a "mud-erator." I think it makes a difference if the balloon is permanently affixed to the airgun, or if it can be removed and placed on a firearm.
BATFE is also studying research from the Institute of Unrepeatable Science where they fill the balloons with helium instead of water. It doesn't reduce the decibel level of the report, but rather makes it so high-pitched that only dogs and cockroaches can hear it. |
