Tinkering around with air rifles for a number of years I've tried a number of pels.
Most available good pel seems to be the 14.3 C.P.H.P. or the same in Benji but Benji is owned by Crosman so I suspect the pels are identical.
I also have used more expensive JSB Exact, a bit heavier at 16.0 al the way to over 21.0 grains. Mostly the JSB 16.0 work well but not much better than the always available and cheaper C.P.H.P.
I still buy JSB and H&N from Pyramyd, buy 4 pay for three deal.
So what pels do you find are superior to C.P.H.P. and where does one get some?
I'm undecided about .177 caliber pels and am still using the C.P.H.P.
What do you rifle shooters like in .177?

I have some CPHP's ... they sit there. To my airguns, they are just another pellet to try ... nothing special and not a stand out.

There is one pellet that always seems to be welcome in the vast majority of my .177 barrels. RWS Diabolo wadcutters @ 7.0gr

The Crosman Premier Dome 10.5gr seems to shoot pretty good in all my 177s that are powerful enough to throw that pellet in the 850-925 fps range. Even at faster speeds in my B50. I'e only got one .22 pellet gun, and it does seem to like the CPHP 14.3s ok, but because its a springer I don't tend to expect much out of it. My .25 throws 20-31 grain pellets just fine, but JSB exact domes in 25.39 are my pellet of choice for it.

You just have to experiment. Guns often have preferences, and different pellets might be better suited to different purposes. For example, my Slavia 631 likes RWS Meisterkugeln 8.2 grain wadcutters at 10 meters. At 25 yards the same gun is more accurate with RWS 8.3 grain Superdomes. Crosman 10.5 grain Ultramags in the Crosman G1 are my best combination for 100 yards.

In general, I like RWS pellets. They might not always be the best choice, but I have never found them to be a bad choice. Although I have never tried JSB pellets, many people feel the same about them.

I agree on the RWS pellets, they are my pellet of choice. Meisterkugeln and the R10 for ten yard target shooting and the Superdome would be my choice for longer ranges.

Thank you all for the tips on pels.
For some reason I have at least 15 tins of assorted brands, weight pels in .177. Probably my second a.g. was a cheap Gamo in that caliber.
Learned my lesson about cheap a.g.s too.
I have 4 a.g. rifles in .22 and have a nuber of bransk/weights of pels.
C.P.H.P. work good enough in all givin gme 1/2" to 3/4" at 20 yards which is hunting accuracy. JSP Exact are slightly more accurate but not much.
My Whipser .177, an o.k. but not stellar a.g. shoot 3/4" or better with the 11.3 grain Beeman heavy .177 and is consistant in accuracy.
Need to chrono that pel and see if it approaches 800 f.p.s. which should be good to take fox squirrels with well placed shots.

My 22 marauder really likes the H&N barracuda's 21 gr. It will stack pellet on pellet at 25 yards. Got lucky in that my disco likes the CPHP 14.3 gr, which is about the only good pellet that wally world keeps in stock. My 25 likes the 27 gr Benjamin's and the H&N FTT 19.91 gr domed. Don't remember the name of the 10.5 gr .177 pellets my spring likes, but wally world sells them.

H&N, RWS usually work in almost any gun. I have one pistol that does best with Crosman "pointed". Other than that one just has to try a bunch until you
find the guns "sweet" pellet.

I have an AF Condor that doesn't like any pellet the best, but does fantastic
(.75" c-t-c @ 100 yards) with re-bearinged .223 lead bullets.

What is an AF Condor? A pre-charged?
Pel wieght and velocity please.

.223 ammo with a bearing band front and back to reduce friction.

AF= Airforce.

Pre-charged with nitrogen.
