1) Target to download and print: Week 21; Jan/28>Feb/03/2008

Print to full-size on an A4 or 8.5"x11" sheet of paper.
2) Shooting distance is 5m/16.4ft for pistols.
3) Shooting distance is 10m/32.8ft for rifles.
4) Any sighting device may be used.
5) NO rests or steadying aids are allowed.
6) 16 shots at targets, 2 per line target maximum. 5 sighting/practice shots not on the clock using blue dot on the page.
7) 10 minutes total time (take whatever amount of time for each shot you like, but at 10 minutes-stop!).
8) Scoring is 10 points for the black, and no points in the white. Touching the edge of a colour counts for points.
Only two hits per line target counts. Maximum point count is 160.
9) Entries need to be scanned or photographed and posted. Please list gun, pellet, sighting device and total time expended.
10) You can enter using both a pistol and a rifle as separate entries- but all rules must be followed for each.
11) Score your own target. Winner and Runner-Up will be verified by board officials.
12) This is an honorable contest for sport- if you lie or cheat, you are the only one who really loses. Please keep it above-board!
13) Each competition runs from Monday to Sunday. Your entry must be posted in the forum no later than 23:00 GMT Sunday.
14) These rules are for this week's shooting competition and may change for others.

Hey John, I get excited when there's a new target so I got to at least do the rifle or pistol since Sunday night is usually good for me. I might pull out the pistol later on tonight and give that one a try.

Who's this Ralphy guy anyway? How can he be so steady, must be a young fella or knows the secret to keeping still. Nice shooting there bud. Smile

Woody...I have faith in you in giving this feller a run for his money now. Hopefully I'm a bit more calm with the pistol.

Hey Mar, thanks for the compliment. I look at my scores though and think, "man, I've got to practice more!" As for my age, well let's see..... my Dad started me shooting when I was about 10...... but that was 46 years ago! Smile

Hey Ralphy, don't mind me, just like to rile up you young fellas. Laughing Nice to see that most of us are actually pretty close in age doing this weekly comp.

Anyway just shot this after watching WWE, must have inspired me as it looks like I match you this time.

My shooting was way off actually, I was aiming for where the lines intersect.

Pistol: Custom 2240, scoped
Ammo: Crosman .22 wadcutters
Distance/Stance: 5m 2hand hold
Time: 7.5 mins
Score: 110/160

Mar/Ralphy,

Hey great shooting you guys! You guys are giving everyone a run for their money!

Where's Alstone? I hope he sits this one out! Then we might all have a chance! Shocked

Just kidding, in truth, everyone in this thing is a player, and I can see I have my work cut out for me!

Thanks.

I'm still around John, I'll be shooting later this week but it's the turn of the Webley pistol this time, and that looks a hell of a difficult target. Still it all adds to the fun Smile

Al

Got round to shooting today using the Webley MK2, but I'm afraid it's getting on a bit and requires a new spring, seal and barrel, the first two are no problem but the barrel could be.

You can tell how bad it is when it can only just tear a hole through the paper. Anyway here goes

Date 31 Jan 08
Time 1.20-1.25
Wepon, 1955 Webley MKll pistol .177
Sights, Iron as fitted
Pellet, Bisley Pratice .177
Distance 5m
Two hand standing

Score 50/160

Al

Wow, that was a cool target! But I found it much harder then it initially looked! Very challenging!

Laughing

Date: 2/01/08
Time 6 mins.
Gun: IZZY 46M
Sights: Open/Iron
Pellet: RWS Match
Distance 5m
One handed standing

Score 70/160

Thanks to all!

Those .20 H&N Field Target pellets do not cut the paper as good as wadcutters do. Evil or Very Mad
I had to check the lead marks on the paper to calculate my score. Rolling Eyes
But my HW45 loves them Wink

I can't post my target because my scanner is on the blink. I am not in this one anyhow. Steyr LP1, RWS pellets, 5 meters, one hand, 8 minutes, score 80/160. I had several hits that were painfully close to the lines but not close enough.

Mar,

Hey thanks a lot, I appreciate the comment!

Yeah, I was pleased with the groupings, but man, the margin for error on this target is just so, so thin! Wink

This target is my favorite so far, it is deceivingly difficult!

All of the participants have done extremely well! Great job to all!
