Back in 2000 I bought BSA scope for my .177R1. That scope held up very well. It always retained its zero and it always tracked consistently. What more can you want?
In 2006 I gave the rig to a buddy. I nearly never got it back!
When I recently got it I noticed the finish was terrible. This was fine as it did not affect the function. But what chapped my A$$ was that he lost the machined aluminum lens caps.
So I call ole BSA up only to find out that they are actually Gamo. After telling the tech all about my scope. I asked for a price to replace the lens caps. He said 10 bucks and send in the scope. I asked why he wanted the scope. He said that he was going to replace the whole thing. I informed him that other than the finish that was a damned good scope and nothing wrong with it.
He said that there was a very small number that had a finish issue from back then. So he wanted to just replace it. WOW!!!!!!!!
I was as impressed as I was shocked. Is this the Gamo way? After 14 years. And I didnt even want to replace it. They insisted!

Not likely to be the same scope you will get back- nobody is selling the same scope/construction they made 14 years ago. I suspect the only way you might get back the same unit is if they are sitting on some old stock for warranty purposes.
