I have just purchased an Evanix Rainstorm and there seems to be a bad seal near the barrel and receiver mate up point. There is some type of oil residue where the barrel shroud meets the receiver following my first few shots. (See attached picture.) I am charging the rifle to the recommended 200 bar as shown on the gun and 2900 psi on my scuba tank.
I'm a newbie to the PCP world, but I would say I have a blown breech seal or maybe the barrel has not been fully seated during manufacture? Any advice would be much appreciated.

Shoot it some to see if it straightens out. |

The barrel is inside, the oily residue is coming from the shroud and is most likely leftover from manufacture and/or shipping/preservation. Remove the shroud and clean it and the barrel, and the gunk should be gone, and not come back. |

I was thinking about that, but being a newbie I'm not sure how to get the shroud off. I would definitely like to do this as I'd like to ensure the barrel is fully seated into the receiver. Anyone know of a video or step by step instructions link? Thanks |
