Woody61,

No wonder your scores are so good!

Whew, that's some pressure!

Hey, hey, hey now!

Now I don't know if I'm up to that kind of pressure! I'm getting old (40)!

Woody is an excellent shot, I would gladly concede to him!

Besides, my 16 was a bit iffy! : 0

Oh, I thought all you guys were younger then me! Whoops.

Anymore, my "social" groups are starting to consist of more younger people and some older people, but you know how that ratio changes as you age!

Shocked Ahhhh!

A shoot-off always keeps things interesting. Besides, I would not want you to concede just because you are too young to know better Razz

1) Shootout target to download and print: Week 17;

Print to full-size on an A4 or 8.5"x11" sheet of paper.
2) Shooting distance is 5m/16.4ft for pistols.
3) Shooting distance is 10m/32.8ft for rifles.
4) Any sighting device may be used.
5) NO rests or steadying aids are allowed.
6) 10 shots at the target, 2 per diamond maximum.
5 sighting/practice shots not on the clock using a different print-out of the target.
7) 5 minutes total time (take whatever amount of time for each shot you like, but at 5 minutes-stop!).
8) Scoring is 10 point for orange, 2 points inside the diamond, no points outside the black diamond and no points for white. Touching the edge of a colour counts for points. Only two hits per diamond counts. Maximum point count is 100.
9) Entries need to be scanned or photographed and posted. Please list gun, pellet, sighting device and total time expended.
10) You can enter using both a pistol and a rifle as separate entries- but all rules must be followed for each.
11) Score your own target. Winner and Runner-Up will be verified by board officials.
12) This is an honorable contest for sport- if you lie or cheat, you are the only one who really loses. Please keep it above-board!
13) This shootout runs from Sunday to Tuesday. Post entry in forum no later than 23:00 GMT Tuesday.
14) These rules are for this week's shootout and may change for others.

OK, could have been better, could have been worse! : )

The middle diamond may be worth more then 10, I don't know. If it is, then good! I'll need the points! My competition is really good! ; )

Here is the target:

Specs:
Gun - IZZY 46m
Pellet - RWS Hobby
Distance - 5m
Stance - Standing, one hand
Time - 4 mins.
Score - 90/100

** Probably shouldn't do this, but I did. My other hobby is weight lifting, and I shot this target RIGHT after lifting. But sometimes, I shoot best after working out believe it or not! Maybe concentrating more(?). Who knows?!

P.S. I had somebody check my scores, just because some of them were so dang close!

Woody61,

Wow, this is like only the third thing I've ever won in my whole life! Pretty exciting!

This one was truly by the skin of my teeth, as clearly noted by my numerous "barely-10" scores.

And I see that you already blew past me on the Week19 score! : )

Thanks for the shoot-off, it was fun!

Hope to beat you again someday! Mr. Green

I enjoy the competition even if I get beat sometimes. It wouldn't be called competition if you won them all Wink You did some fine shooting on last weeks match, congratulations Exclamation

I think the pressure from us all is getting to Woody now.

I'm not feeling up to shooting lately, feel real tired and cold when I get home from work. Finally getting some sun to shine here so hopefully that will recharge me.

Nice shooting as alway and congrats to John.

Thanks to all! I don't belong to a shooting club or a range or anything around where I live, just don't have that kind of time. So you are all like my shooting club!

I really appreciate the competition and look forward to shooting with you all each week!

I would say, since I started shooting these competitions, the amount of shooting that I do has increased about 300%. These competitions really get me to pull out my guns and shoot on a regular basis, which in turn makes me better, which makes me like it more, yada, yada, yada...

I think the thing also that keeps it interesting is the different targets each week. Always something new that kind of keeps it more lively!

Talk to you all soon! Mar, hope you will be feeling better soon! Can't remember where you're from, but I know flu season is at it's peak here in Michigan. Hang in there!
