1) Target to download and print: Week 17;

Dec/31/2007>Jan/06/2008
Print to full-size on an A4 or 8.5"x11" sheet of paper.
2) Shooting distance is 5m/16.4ft for pistols.
3) Shooting distance is 10m/32.8ft for rifles.
4) Any sighting device may be used.
5) NO rests or steadying aids are allowed.
6) 16 shots at the target, 1 per dot maximum.
5 sighting/practice shots not on the clock using a different print-out of the target.
7) 15 minutes total time (take whatever amount of time for each shot you like, but at 15 minutes-stop!).
8) Scoring is 1 point for blue, 2 points for red, 4 points for black and no points for white.
Touching the edge of a colour counts for points.
Only one hit per dot counts. Maximum point count is 32.
9) Entries need to be scanned or photographed and posted.
Posts must list gun, pellet, sighting device and total time expended.
10) You can enter using both a pistol and a rifle as separate entries- but all rules must be followed for each.
11) Score your own target. Winner and Runner-Up will be verified by board officials.
12) This is an honorable contest for sport- if you lie or cheat, you are the only one who really loses.
Please keep it above-board!
13) Each competition runs from Monday to Sunday.
Your entry must be posted in the forum no later than 23:00 GMT Sunday.
14) These rules are for this week's shooting competition and may change for others.

Steyr LP1 pistol, RWS pellets, 5 meters, one hand, 10 minutes, 16/32. AirGunEric had suggested I print in black and white. Would that make each spot worth 4 points Idea Mr. Green

LOL! I needed a good chuckle.

You still beat me using one hand while I use both, maybe next time I'll stand on one foot.

Received my scope for the Diana today, just need to sight her in now. Smile

Hello all,

Well, that was a cool target! And I shot a 12/32 or a 16/32... It's your call... The one that I marked "questionable" you really could go either way with, so it is up to you all!

Here is the target:

Stats:
Gun: IZZY 46m
Pellet: RWS Match
Distance: 5 meters
Time: 12 minutes
Stance: Standing, one hand (right)
Score: 12/32 or 16/32

*** Sadly, I was so pathetic with my Avanti 753, that I can't even submit a score! Those dots were just too small to see with peep sights!

*** Over that holidays I ordered an Air Force Talon in .22 and I'm going to put a scope on it when I get it, and this will be my new rifle for shooting in this competition! I'm tired of "guessing" where the dots are! ; )

Thanks all!

John

I don't know how you fellas can shoot good offhand with a rifle. Ican't seem to keep steady. I always was good at running targets when I hunted though and could always paper punch with a pistol, but a rifle and try to be steady...that's a dream.

Crosman Phantom .22 cal, scoped shooting wadcutters.
Standing 10m.
Time: 5.5 min

Score: 11

Mar,

I feel your pain! You saw my score! I couldn't even submit a rifle score with my 753 w/peep sights because the score was too low!

I think my score was like a 4.

Hence the new Talon air rifle w/scope purchase! (scope is still on it's way)

That should/could change things!

The targets we sometimes shoot, are too impossibly small for me, at 10 meters, to see with peep sights....

Very much looking forward to shooting with the scope, but it is going to take a lot of getting used to on my part, I have had like zero experience shooting with a scope!

When I shoot regular 10m air rifle targets with the 753 and it's peep sights, it is an animal and shoots like a dream. But if the targets get too small, everything flies out the window!

I'll not be shooting this week, I've got flu shooting last weeks and the wife won't let me out to shoot, so I'm grounded for a few days.
Anyway good luck to the rest of you.

Al

Too windy and wet this week for shooting.

The best I did was a 4 with my .177 Phantom and a -1 with my 1077 (no hits, one even missing the F*@k'g target trap entirely). Mr. Green

Can we even get "negative" scores? I think Red is the first person to post one! Mr. Green

Redster,

I had to read this email 3 times and each time I laughed my head off!

I have been there, MAN, have I been there! I have missed the trap completely more then a few times, and each time, I just couldn't can't believe what had just happened!

Wished I could blame it on the wind, but I was inside both those times!

Too funny! You make me feel ok about my frequent, poor shots!

Thanks for keeping it real!

You need to set up your range like mine. I have a window on each side of the target trap. I CAN'T miss or I'm dead Exclamation
