These are the cast bullets I'll be testing this Wednesday with my Career ll Ultra .25cal carbine. First two from left to right are made by Robert Vogel(36gr and 49gr hollow points) then the ones made by Julius(52gr and 58gr flat nose).

I just scoped my Career "hog hunter" but the border patrol squad has taken over the range for there annual practices at the gun club so I've not been able to site it in and test my selection of cast bullets. Maybe next week I'll get a chance.

Finally got a chance to sight in the carbine and test some ammo. The 58gr slugs would not chamber even after I removed the pellet stop. The rains started threatening again around midday and I was only able to test the 52gr slugs from Julius Foster. His bullets are excellent. Had no problems feeding them and they chronied at 840fps/81.5 fpe. This will be my bullet of choice.

Took the rifle to the range today to do a last minute zero check and found a fly in the ointment. With the ldc on, I couldn't hit the broadside of a barn. Took it off and hit my 20yrd zero dead on. I decided to run a same size dowel thru it in hopes that the baffles might be misaligned. I plan on going this saturday on my first hog hunt of the year. I'll check it again tomorrow. If it doesn't work, I'll just shoot without it and send it back to correct. Wish me luck. Wink

Thanks for your comments. Here in Puerto Rico there are many domestic hogs that escaped and fled to jungles and reck havac on the plantations. We're free to hunt them when on private property

You got it. Best way to cook is on a spit. When I bag a big one, I share it with the family.
