Hey guys- this is my first post on this forum-looking forward to chattin with you all! I bought a Benji392 a couple months ago,I think I'm trying to relive my childhood LOL !So far the gun is alright-put a Williams sight on it which was a big improvement to the factory sights and did a little trigger work to it.The gun shoots hard and is fairly accurate.Use to own a Sheridan Blue Streak forty three years ago that somehow got lost-wish I still had it today.No comparison as far as quality,but I guess thats with everything today. The biggest thing with the 392 is how hard it pumps.I usually go with eight pumps and after a dozen or so shots I'm ready to put the gun up. Remember seeing a valve mod where they used two springs of different strengths(like the old 'Dans did)and that made it easier to pump.Anyone familiar with this?

There is a shoulder down inside the front part of the valve, just above the check valve.... Take a #8 flat washer and you can drop it down to seat on that shoulder.... Shorten the valve spring a couple turns to sit on top of that washer and keep the same tension on the exhaust valve poppet....

Find a short, light spring that will fit in the space in front of the washer and press on the check valve to keep it closed.... You can also cut about half the lenght off the back of the check valve to increase the volume inside the valve slightly and give more length for the spring if you wish....

Thanks Bob for the info on the 392 valve mod . Sounds fairly easy. Didn't know the shoulder cut was already in it-makes it even easier. Should I look for quality springs or hardware store springs ok? Stainless? I've never taken a valve out before-is there an o-ring between exhaust port and breech that I have to watch for? Anything I need to be careful with?
