| I took my phantom apart to discover the piston has no hole in it and the spring is pretty long but the box says its detuned. i added shims in the back of the piston(i used 4 pennies) should i add more pennies because it did not make much of a difference. What else can i do to get more power? thanks |

| ok thanks ill probably end up buyimg a parts kit and a datuna trigger. however i accidentally hit the pump arm with a hammer while putting the pin back in (dont ask how i hit the arm while trying to hit the pin) so now when i go to pump the gun it wont pump. the pump arm hits the stock and i cant pump it it looks like i bent it. how can i fix it i tryed hitting it back in place but i still have the same problem? should i buy a new pump arm? |

Do you have a bench vise? or access to one(buddy,school,etc) I would use a vise and clamp down on it to bend it back and maybe a ball peen hammer.
Usually the only time you can't fix a bent metal piece is if you creased it.
If worse come to worse just order a replacement from Crosman. They are very reasonably priced, the only drawback is they take every bit of 2 week delivery. |

| ok thanks and yes i do own a vise but i already tried clamping it and i hit it with a hammer until it was normal but now it prefers to bend up instead of go straight back when i pump it |

You cannot straighten a piece of fold-formed steel and have it retain its shape under load- you need a new cocking arm.
Based on all what appears to be talk of a detuned product- I would imagine you are in Canada.

Yeah if its doing that follow Eric's advice.
That means the metal is weakening and will probably break off at some point in time |

ok thanks for the reply and no im not in Canada, Im in the us but due to the stupid laws in Illinois anything over 700fps and or larger than .18 in caliber is a firearm. which makes no sense because paintball guns and airsoft guns are legal and above .18 in caliber.
America is not as good as it sounds I no longer consider it free because that would be a lie.It is a very controlling country that does not stick to what the constitutions says instead government officials say screw that we will go in more debt and get more power and try policing everyone....rant |

And the U.S. government's plan for invasion (War Plan Red), which wasn't scrapped until 1939.
All those years of aggression when we could have been enjoying Molson and Moosehead with our Canadian bacon/pineapple pizzas.

Funny story- I go to visit some friends of the family as a kid- as is common, I get bored and wander off down the road. Stumble across a run-down pathway and follow it to find a Memorial- essentially hidden at the end of a residential street and half overgrown- 'Butler's Rangers Burying Ground'.
Obviously was not a well-advertised, or high tourist-draw site. Mind-you for a 10-year-old it was an interesting mystery for awhile- seeing as how Al Gore hadn't invented the internet yet.
But back to the gun- you can order a new cocking arm from Crosman- probably around $10.00 or so. |
