I'm thinking of getting him a new spring, piston & seal for a start & see how it goes from there. In other words, they didn't want to be bothered. A pity, because it's a great gun. I don't believe he'd mind a repair with substitute parts, since right now the farthest it can shoot a pellet is about 40 feet as is (and at that range it can't even shake an empty soup can).
