I already can see that if i keep shooting like i am the co2 crossman 2240 is going to start getting cpstly in co2 cartridges which bring me to a adding another pistol to my collection, I am reading about the Beeman P1 springer, a little costly but if i am reading correctly it is more accurate than my 2240, any other springer pistols worth a look at to be as accurate as the P1

Consider the Beeman P17. It's an inexpensive single-stroke pneumatic, meaning no CO2 cost and no spring to vibrate. It's accurate and has a great trigger. It also has a 3/8" dovetail for optics. Don't let the price tag fool you - it's a lot of gun for a little money.

Fairly comparable. I went down in the basement and shot these two (5 round) groups, both at 10 meters, both from a rest, and both with RWS Superdomes (different calibers, of course). The Marksman 2004 has a red dot, and the 2240 has aperture sights. (Marksman 2004 is the same as the P17, but with an earlier name.)

The P17 is less powerful than the 2240, but has a better trigger. It will never be a hunter at 3 FPE, but for paper punching and plinking it's a great value.

I have to agree, the P17 is amazing for what they cost.
The 1377 or 1322 pumpers are another option to get away from CO2.

I am about ready to order the P17 and see if I can get by with the open sights, if not I see there is a guy who did a video on youtube claiming the daisy red dot to be better than the beeman packaged red dot scope. any thoughts.

ps when I get the p 17 can I go ahead and shoot it or should I rip it down and deburr the ara you mentioned on another page so it wont rip the seals apart are there any pages where there are alot ot tips ect an the

and with the sights on the 2240 you have in the picjure, I am curious how far away approx is your eye from the rear sight is it arms length or are you up close like 2 inches away

They are multi strokes, 10 pumps for max power, for target shooting I normally use from 4 to 6 pumps. Normaly for my pistol shooting I use a Daisy 747 single stroke that is more accurate than I ever will be.
I haven't owned any springer pistols so I can't offer any opinions on those.

I have a Diana 5g and its a spring pistol. real accurate open sights fairly easy cocking and shoots in the mid 400's . there is a guy on the yellow classifieds that has a pair of those but labeled Winchester , same pistol just branded Winchester . I think he is asking $100. apiece . not a bad price for a german made gun . I like mine rather well

I want to thank you for the advice on the P-17 I have been shooting it for the past few weeks, tried 4 or 5 different pellets and found the RWS Superdomes to work the best, literally 1 hole at 15 yds, best and most accurate pistol i have now, if i could only get my new RWS rifle Diana 34 in 22 cal to shoot like my P-17 i would be tickled.

I'm glad you like it. Cheap, accurate, and if it ever comes time to reseal it you can get the seals from an automotive parts store. Have fun.

Hi there i shoot pistols that use co2 but if i were to get another pistol it would be the HW40 or BeemanP17, they are SSP pistols and you would not have to worry about springs either.
