Hi.. i was wondering how do i clean the muzzle of my IZH-46M? One way to do it is shoot cleaning pellets soaked in silicone oil but how do i clean it using patches? I have the patch loop rod which they sent me in the box.
Do we have to strip the pistol and remove the muzzle to clean it or is there any easier way to do it ?
Thanks in advance. |

Heres what I do. I bought a box of Q-Tips, the plastic kind. Carefully pull off the cotton on each end, roll em around between your thumb and index finger like a freshly picked booger, jam it in like a pellet and fire it in a safe direction. I usually do two or three. And you can get them at the dollar store. |

Instead of the Q-tips you can get some cleaning pellets. They are made to clean the bore (http://www.pyramydair.com/cgi-bin/pellet.pl?pellet_id=407).
I had asked this question coz i wanted to know, how to clean the bore using the rod which they send in the IZH box. how to use it with cotton pads ?? |

I've haven't cleaned the 46m since I pulled a clean patch through it when I took it out of the package. Still stacks pellets after putting numerous sleeves through it. Don't mess with success, more likely to screw it up |

Thanks. |

I have custom grips for mine, and I really like them.
Just FWIW. |

I'd use either a rat tail or half round wood file for minor rough shaping, then sand paper. For mine, I used a flex drive with a rotary rasp and bondo to fill in the back strap.
What ever you do, go slow til you like the grip shape. Some friends of mine will purposely over trim a grip. Then they butter up the grip with bondo, slip on a surgical rubber glove and hold it Now the bondo will get pretty warm as it sets up but it should hold it's shape. If not happy, add more bondo and reshape til happy. |

| I'm generally against cleaning the bores of my airgun. I'd rather not spend another 1000 pellets getting it to shoot again |

| I don't think I've ever cleaned the bore of my 2240 and I've had it 21 years. lol Still has a quarter inch group at 10 meters. |
