| So, after installing the Crossman steel breech kit, I realized that even if I modified the stock rear sight, it would be too high to sight in without adding a pin to the front. You'd have to do that even if you use the LPA MIM sight, which seems to be the only one that fits the 1/2" dovetail in the steel breech. I want the gun mainly for plinking, with maybe stinging an occasional rabbit or ground squirrel in the tomatos. I could not find a simple rear sight, so I filed down an L shaped piece of black plastic cut from a computer empty bay cover. I made it a bit less than 3/8" tall, and notched it with a file. It works great! I can hit a 2" circle offhand at 25 feet with 5 pumps and Crossman wadcutters. Every time. Not bad for free! |
