I already know the destroyers and Crow Magnums shoot great in my gun. Can't wait to see if the coppers penetrate any better, and can't wait to see how these polypags and ultrashocks expand and shoot. I dunno how the silver arrows will shoot, considering .117 pellets of comparable shape shot like crap in my other gun. Pyryamid gave me the destroyers for free though! 10 dollar shipping is a little rough; not as rough as 33 for next-day. 3 day was an 13 dollar alternative to 2-day regular shipping. Guess you'll have that.

The $10 shipping covers the cost of the Destroyers. I've used the cheaper EX (wallyworld) .177 and I like them- except that the cheaper ones are a bit inconsistent in size(expected considering they are from Walmart). They do hit pretty hard and leave some pretty devestating damage on my pellet trap. Looks like some fun shooting in your future!

Today I was shooting through denim and pellet cans into my phone book catcher. The Destroyers take massive bites of denim when passing through, and when passing through the tin cans they expanded in a less jagged but completely satisfactory way. All the HPs worked ok, have impressions left on the flat noses from the material... cool stuff

I guessed pretty well with the weights of these. The big copper ones shoot pretty consistently at my first low mil-dot. Very consistent and carry a lot of energy. The Crow Magnums aren't the same as the Kodiaks like I thought, they have a much bigger cavity in the nose. But they shoot just as good! And open up much more violently. The poly tip ones also shoot right at point of aim. Expansion is surprisingly sort of lame. The Skencos are great! I didn't think they'd be accurate but they also shoot great. And they turn inside out on impact. Silver Arrows shoot reasonably well, good plinkers or whatever.

Lot's of pretty song birds around my feeders though!

I think the real question is: Accuracy?

Penetration is one element, consistency another- but distance you are shooting from/at and overall accuracy are important factors as well.

Oh yeah, accuracy is key. The copper pellets don't shoot worth crap anymore. I've figured out that just about anything between 16 and 18 grains shoots reasonably well.

Crow/Kodiak mag 18.21s are my go-to. I also bought some 16.36 grain H&N field targets, and they shoot great too.
Balls shoot well, but some of them fit the bore tighter, and accordingly shoot better. I tried buying some .177 balls for my Viper, but they all roll right out the bore, or go halfway then don't shoot very hard.

Destroyers shot great when I got the gun, but since the barrel broke in, they don't anymore. Adversely, Beeman Silver Bear 12.65s never hit before, but now consistently shoot right at my first high mil dot. (because they're light, I guess.)

I bought some of those Gamo Rockets as a goof, not expecting much. I've had the .177 versions before, and they were junk. The ball in the nose of those is actually a little third of one, and they usually fell apart. These are much better! They actually hold together in the my BB catcher, and penetrate great.

My fixation on penetration stems from an abundance of ground-hogs and big rabbits around my place. I like to know that I'm not going to maim my target.

All my shooting is done at the same range, across my yard :P Sight in at the tree line, and good to go. Not positive on an actually yardage, probably ~20.
