Ok, I've been thinking about these for a while now and have been hearing very VERY mixed opinions on them.
I'm looking at particularly the hyper velocity field pellets, and the golden rod "long range" pellets.
I would be shooting them out of a Daisy 880 and/or a Crosman 1377 (stock for now but plan on upgrading barrel and piston).
Would they be any good? The HVFPs look really cool(not the literal look, I mean the idea behind it seems cool), and I saw some guys on youtube getting insane penetration out of them and I just think that's really neat. And I HEARD that the golden rod's maintain velocity and accuracy better at longer ranges.
I don't think I'd have to worry about either of them (obviously not the golden rods) going supersonic on me in either gun, but would they be accurate even subsonic? Again, heard mixed reviews. |

All I can say is try them. Guns often have pellet preferences, and they may work well in yours. Both guns give you the option of varying the velocity to match the pellet, which you don't have with a springer.
My shooting box has several tins of pellets that I bought to try out, only to find they didn't work. They don't go to waste - I use them up on less "critical" targets (like tin cans) when I'm just screwing around. |
