Hello everyone,
I am new here to this forum, just joined a few minutes ago. I have been shooting air rifles for a few months now. It started with a crossman am77. I brought it home and was hooked. I had maybe 1500 pellets through it and the hinge on the cocking lever broke. So I went out and bought a beeman Grizzly x2. (same as rs2 but comes with both a .22 and .177 barrel). I really really liked this gun. Well one night after getting home real late from shooting at a buddys house I left it in my truck. The one night I leave it out and some low life breaks into my truck and steals it. (I cant stand people with no value to an earned dollar!!) Now I am left looking for a new air rifle. So this brings me here. I am really half thinking about just buying another beeman x2. Im a big fan of the two barrels. After going through the gun cleaning, lubing and loctite on the screws I was getting dime sized grouping at 20 yards. Well before I go and buy another one I am asking if any of you have any recommendations. I am only in the $150 to 200 range. Looking for target shooting and small game hunting spring piston gun. (Unless someone knows of a nitro piston for 200 let me know). So your thoughts are appreciated. Thanks. |

A Benjamin Titan (formerly Crosman Titan) nitro piston will come in at about $150.00 USD, including scope. I have one, and I like it. It comes in either .177 or .22, but not both like your Beeman.
Like most guns of the B18/B19/Gamo/Crosman/Remington family, the trigger isn't the best. I would factor in another $40.00 for a replacement GTR or GTX trigger. |

I had a Beeman X2 from Walmart, but scrapped it in one of my early tuning experiments. Hard to beat for the money, IMO. I still use the scope from it.

| its very hard to give good recommendations when we have little to go on! Are you just target shooting or pesting or both? How much are you looking to spend and are you in a country that has regulations on airguns? |

| I would avoid Chinese made guns for the most part. You get what you pay for, although there may be some good Chinese guns. All of Beeman's low priced models are Chinese. In the price range you are talking about, Crosman makes some decent stuff. Sometimes you can get a good deal on a remanufactured one from airgunsdaily.com or airgundepot.com |

| For some reason across the board it seems one can pick up the NPSS Remington for 250ish on sale. I know this is a little north of your original stated price, but I think they are worth it. I got to shoot with it quite a bit and was impressed with its accuracy out of the box with what I consider a junk trigger. |

this suggestion will also put you "way north" of your price range...but i would suggest the Benjamin Marauder.
very adjustable in power and very, very, accurate right out of the box, plus, it's fully shrouded. they do NOT come equipped with scope or open sights so you'd have to go in quest of your choice of sighting devices. they do come with a hand pump if you wish. (otherwise you have to get set up for PCP refill.
my personal preferences lie in .22 and larger but the .177 is very capable, too. |
