| i have a air rifle with a plastic front site.it has a set screw in which i removed but cant seem to move the site.it appears to slip over the end of the barrle do i need to drive it off?the rifle is a ruger airhawk.i would like to remove this so i can fix the crown which has burrs in it.but the crown is recessed in about 3/16s in. |

I don't know about your ruger, but I had to take mine off with a piece of wood and a small hammer. If it's plastic it should tap off pretty easily. THis was on my storm and my 2240. Just a few taps and they were off. Good luck!  |

| I think you just have to tap it off with a block of wood. They glue them I think. |

| Mine were just fitted extremely tight. THey came off with some work. |

| my QB57 doesn't have set screws. I used a hairdryer to warm it up good, it took at least 5 minutes and the I tapped it off with a piece of wood with a slot cut as wide as barrell diameter to get an eve surface without causing damage. I've had my muzzle break off and on 4 times with no permanent damage. |

| On the Airhawk and most other similar rifles with plastic sights it helps if you grab the sight with a crescent wrench and rotate it on the end of the barrel a few times. It loosens up the plastic just enough that you don't have to hit so hard while tapping the sight |
