Am new to the forum so please forgive the dumb questions. I am having problems getting the scope to zero in. I am shooting from 55yards out and am 1 to 1 and half inches off to the left of center. I have tried the accuscope chart and it helped a little but I just can't seem to get that last little bit in. Have heard about ''shimming'' the scope but dont think that would help me bring it to the right. I have tried several types of pellets and get the same results. This is my first break-barrel and would hate to have this thing turn me away before I can even have any fun with it. Please help.

Also does anyone know of a bi-pod that can be used with this gun?

A 55 yard zero is pretty far for an airgun. If you have two separate rings you might try reversing one or the other to see what happens.

A spring piston (even nitro) airgun has vibration and bidirectional recoil, and the best way to achieve consistency is to hold it loosely. A firm bipod prevents that, so accuracy often suffers. The sling stud-mounted bipod that works great on my .17 HMR isn't so great on my Crosman G1. I use a cheap plastic RamLine barrel clamping bipod, and that works better - probably because it fits loosely and lets the gun buck. It's still a pain to remove it every time I load.

55 Yards is quite far for the Nitro Venom, let along any Springer. I would say bring it in about 25 yards and your scope should zero quite fast.

I support what Slavia says that 55 yds is a bit of a stretch for initial zero. you can use a free program called "chairgun" to find out what the near zero will be to place the far zero on 55yds. I'm guessing 17-18 yds.

As for the scope. As you look down at the scope from the top your scope needs to rotate a tiny bit counter clockwise. I had a phantom that had this same issue.

You can try this if rotating the mounts don"t work

loosen off both rail clamps until they are just holding the scope in place.

Further loosen off the forward rail clamp until you can slide a shim between the clamp and the rail on the left side.

This effectively pulls the front of the scope to the left

(usually shims are from brass but clear plastic packaging will work as will a tiny piece of pop can) whatever you use it should be soft enough that it will conform easily to the shape of the rail

Tighten everything up a give it a try. ideally the windage adjustment should be close to the middle of it's range.

Thank you for all for the tips. I will try again today from 30 yards and see where it is at. I was only at 55 yards because of different websites saying thats where I should be to set it.

It all depends upon what you want to do with the gun. If you shoot primarily at 55 yards, then by all means zero the scope at that range. I zero mostly at 10 meters (indoors) and 25 yards (outdoors).

If your scope has mil dots or stadia lines then zero at a convenient range and use the dots to hold over or under the zero. If you have a good scope that can be accurately adjusted, then zero for 25 or 30 yards and memorize how many clicks up or down it takes to come on target at different ranges.

Another approach is to get the Chairgun program (It's free). Say you want to hit a 1" target (+/- 1/2"). Chairgun will help you find a zero range that will give the broadest possible band of ranges where that will happen.

The scope that came with the gun is a Center Point. I am mainly going to use it to hunt some squirrel and rabbits. Live on 10 acres in central Florida and there are plenty of both. Might even take it out to our 2 ponds and get some frogs.
I havent shimmed it yet but today after moving to 30 yards I am still just to the left of center. Its centered on elevation just not windage. We'll see what tomorrow brings when I try again.

The Centerpoint 3-9x32 Scope I found does not have too clear of a Sight image,due to the fact that it does not have an Adjustable parallax. You may want to throw a Center Point 3-9x40 Scope on your Nitro Venom.

Guess I may have to shim the scope a little. I can get the elevation centered but no matter what I tried it still hits just to the left of center. This is after I moved to 30yards instead of 55. Hope to get this fixed soon because the little tree rats are getting fat watching me.

Over the years, I have moved closer and closer to set my scopes...Even with a 270 winchester, I start at about 20 yds...make sure it's on paper, then move to 50 yds for final...I shoot past that only to verify my initial settings and have killed deer out to 400 yds with this gun.

My point is, that for me it's easier to start up close and then move out further. It's easier for me to get on paper and on target up close, then move out further and adjust up and down as needed...left and right should already be there by the time you move out...

I shoot a Crosman Titan, Benjamin Trail and Benjamin Marauder all in 22 caliber. I zero them all from 14 to 17 yds according to the speed and pellet I'm shooting. I use Chairgun software as a starting point and to estimate approximately where I "should" hit at certain distances...

It's kinda like the "aim small...miss small" concept I guess...Start close, get on target and then move out further...

On that left of center thing...Check your grip on the rifle and finger placement...Be sure and don't grip hard with your firing hand and pull straight back smoothly with the trigger finger...I can change my point of impact simply by moving my trigger finger a tiny bit or just gripping the rifle with the firing hand...I'm blubbering now...lol...

Thansk for the advice. I am going to try again this weekend. Havent tried the software stuff yet. As for pellets I am now using Premiers. I noticed that they seem to group better than the ones from Daisy. Hopefully will get this thing zerod before I get frustrated and get rid of it.
