Hi Guys I’m looking for information on a Crosman 2240 with the intension of modifying it to something I like, for a start the 2240 is a nice looking gun with well balanced proportions and it appears to be a favourite pistol amongst a lot of North American enthusiasts, whether this is because it is an American gun or is a good gun I am not sure. What I want to do is change the breech and bolt action (I hate bolt breeches on pistols) to something like a Lugar P38 Parabellum pistol, I think this would look nice and tidy up a nice looking gun. So what I would like to know is:-

1. What parts are plastic
2. Is the bolt really brass
3. What is the frame made of ( steel or Die cast)
4. Where can I get a parts Diagram from

The reason I ask all this is that I have never seen a 2240 in the “Real” the nearest shop to me that stocks one is over 100 miles away, and I don’t feel like travelling 200 miles round trip just to look at one, also I figure out that You guys can give me more information over the net than I can ever get over the counter.

Also any comments or help would be appreciated thanks.

Cheers Plymouth, I think the project looks quite promising, the main parts of a 2240 that I want to keep seem to be made of steel or die cast so no problem there. I have had a quick look at the Airgunartisans site and it looks pretty good with plenty of detail, I will have a good look later on today. Thanks for the info.
