Does anyone favor point and shoot and no aiming?

I practice with a 9mm that way, as there might someday be a need for the skill. Not so with airguns, so I use the sights. With "point and shoot" you actually are aiming - with body position instead of sights.

I could shoot a bumble bee out of a tulip with a "hip shot" when I was a kid, but I was shooting hundreds of BBs a day back then. Guess I could do it now if I practiced, but my wife would not be as understanding as my mom was with all those tulips that had holes in them... Surprised

The Army taught me to shoot with a BB rifle and when I was young I got to where I could hit a dime in the air 9 out of 10 times. They used the quick kill shooting technique. The point and shoot technique does not work so well at distance.

Have you ever tried a Red Dot scope? I find it's pretty much "point'n'shoot".

When I say it doesn't work well with distance I am talking about a distance that you would have to figure for drop to the target and that changes with the type gun and ammo being used. I would expect it to work say out to 25 to 30 yards with a good airgun. Of course you can train yourself to use the point and shoot at greater distances by knowing the gun and ammo you picks particularities.
