I just bought a new Smith & Wesson M&P 40 and as soon as I put the first co2 canister in and tightened all the gas released and emptied the co2. I tried a few more times and same thing happened. If I tighten really fast, almost all the gas will release from the co2 canister and a little bit remains for a few shots. I'm unsure why the gas is leaking as it's new.
Anyone have any suggestions?

| It sounds like it's missing the gasket, or seat if you will for the CO2 cartridge. I'm not familiar with that articualr model, but I had a 2240 do almost the exact same thing when the port seal stuck to the top of a CO2 cartridge and pulled out and I didn't notice. I'm just glad I keep my empties in a separate bucket. Peeled it off the cartridge, stuck it back in on top another cartridge, and never had another problem. I'd return it and make them give you another one. |
