I want to put my JrSquirreler Logo as my avatar, however it is too big. How do i shrink it to 80Pixels x 80pixels?

Use a picture editing tool and shrink it.

You have to resize it down to the 80x80 as you know and it also has to be under 17kb or something like that. Its almost not worth it at the size it will be.

Just a bit of a 'tip' as well- but if people find your signature pictures too large (they take up alot of screen real-estate) you risk them putting you on "ignore" or turning off displaying signatures- defeating the entire point.

The only other solution to this is if a maximum-size signature limit is implemented, ensuring that no one can put in an oversized image.

There is a limit on signature text and images already I though? I pushed mine to the max size admittedly. I may streamline it here in the next few days so I can use it on a few other sites also.

The text is limited, the picture is not- as it is being stored on a remote service of the person's choosing it is whatever size people make it- I don't like the idea of limiting the maximum size- but it may be coming if signatures get too big.

The width of a picture is limited by the box size it sits within (which is determined by how wide the display window on your browser is set). Notice no pictures ever force scrollbars to appear to be able to see it side-side? This is something I had to program in (auto resizing of photos for display) and is not part of the ready-made product.

So the question of the hour is... Is mine too big? Usually 400 wide is the max I take it with about 250ish to 200 high.

It is usually a "height issue" for people it seems- it gets difficult to concentrate/pay attention to a one-line post when overwhelmed with inches of (no offense to anyone) an almost irrelevant signature picture below- so people I have seen on other forums will either 'ignore' certain posters or outright turn off their ability to see others pictures/signatures/whatever.

Ive been a few boards like that, but it never bothered me that much to turn them off. I can see the irrelevant argument on a sig picture, but I felt it was fitting of who I am via the message board. I know on some boards, I barely even look at names any more but recognize posts via the sig or avatar and they take the place of a user name. So I can see both sides of the argument and if you want me to lower mine, Ill comply.

Moving avatars are very distracting to me and I wish there was a way to set things up so they hold still when I view them.
