Crosman Corp. sent me a Recruit because i won a Contest on Facebook. Originally, i was supposed to get a PumpMaster, but since i already had one, and they "Sponsor" JrSquirreler, they let me choose another one.
Anyway, I couldn't wait to get this thing out of the box and ready to shoot. I mounted the 4x15 Scope thinking "Eh I will just see how it goes." Well when i got out there, i started shooting and NOT ONE PELLET HIT NEARLY IN THE SAME SPOT. I know it has to go through its 100 Shot Cycle, but this is crazy! I have never had this much of a problem regarding accuracy.
So far i have tried the Crosman PHP, Domed, and Regular Field Point and no luck. I am pumping it the same amount of times each shot (10. Killer on the arms!) Does anyone know whats wrong?!
BTW I was shooting off a Lead Sled at 10 Yards. |

After hours of shooting, the Recruit is settling down somewhat nicely. I went from 6-7" groupings to about 2" groupings at 10 yards.  |

With a scope, it should do a lot better than 2" at 10 yards.
I would suspect the scope or scope mounts first.
If you've confirmed the mounts and scope clamping screws are all tight, and it is still shooting badly, try removing the scope and using the iron sights. You should be able to do better than 2" with irons.
I have a 66 Powermaster, which is the predecessor to the Recruit. Pretty good gun. Equivalent to the Daisy 880, but a bit harder to pump. |
