Hello, I'm from the States but .. from what I'm seeing your board is awesome... basically what I'm interested in is making my own air rifle or possibly modding another until I get something IMO worth having let alone shooting other than an expensive after market... any tips and pointers would be appreciated.
right now I'm using a Daisy powerline 856 cobra and an powerline 880 to tinker with... I've had these 2 guns apart numerous times and prety much know them inside and out.. actually trying to figure out a wat to turn them into a PCP |

Hello- welcome to AirGunHome.com
We have people from all over (well, English-speaking countries mainly, but a few from other places as well). Americans and Canadians are fairly abundant here, as well as people from the UK.
As for outright "builders"- these guys are hard to come by. We have one member, yietspingle who does alot of fabrication work, and Alstone makes piles of stuff for airguns (his own guns)- but I don't know that he has had any interest in building a gun from the "ground up". Either would be good sources of info on machining and metal work I would think.
Yietspingle has a website to give people an idea of his projects: http://www.airgundevelopment.com but if you have questions you can post them here- he doesn't run a "forum" specifically.
Also- I should mention this- some airguns are just not practical to turn into PCP- they just don't have the capability unless a raft of Heavy-Duty custom parts are made. Many Co² guns fall into this category, as do others. I'm not familiar with the "guts" of the Daisy 880 or the 856- but at least they are multi-pump pneumatic guns- which means you are a step up on guys trying to convert most Co² guns.
Good luck with your ideas and don't forget to post any questions and I'm sure everyone will do their best to assist you where possible. |

You may have a couple problems using full-pressure air on your gun "as is"- i.e. 3000-4500psi you will blow out the seals and o-rings in your gun. This also assumes the valve will be able to operate properly at those pressures.
Maybe if you put on a regulator and run it around 1200-1500psi that would work- but be sure the regulator and the air chamber can handle that pressure too. |

| Aren't multi-pump guns the cheapest on the market? Especially those daisy toys? (no offence). In that case, I'd just safe money and get something decent to convert. Don't feel much for an exploding airgun, if you get me. |
