Hi All:
I,m trying to plan my next build, and I,m a little unsure as to what length of barrel to use.
The build in question will be a 2250 HPA. I know that in Co2, the longer the barrel, the better (to a point). Does this hold true for hpa also? I am going for max FPE (or close anyways)
Was planning to use 24" barrel, but would 18"-20" improve/reduce velocity?
I suppose,for what they cost, I could buy both & experiment ( I'm sure Eric wouldn't mind if I ordered extra !!)
Thanks for your time, Todd |

If you are going for power, the longer the barrel the better, certainly out to 30" or so.... more on a really high powered gun.... but the returns dimish, of course.... However in practical terms the 24" Crosman barrel is your best choice.... It will definitely be better than a shorter barrel in a high powered gun....

Thanks Rsterne, I kinda figured longer was better, just wanted to be sure. Wifey said longer is better, but I'm not completely sure she was talking about AG's
Thank you Packrat for the link - I think...Awesome info, (still trying to wrap my head around it all!) Pretty sure I'll have to read it 1 or 2 or 15 times more!
I did use the "SEARCH" feature, but apparently didn't type the right info
Maybe I should just go to CT and buy a slingshot! |

Sholo, sometimes the search functions built in to forums just plain don't work well. Here is what I do...
go to google.com. Type in your search criteria followed by site:airgunhome.com. This will tell google to return results only found on that specific site. It is a much more proficient search than a forum search feature.
Like this... copy and paste this into google.com
longer shorter barrel hpa site:airgunhome.com
This is just one example and may not return the results you desire, but you get the idea. |

Thanks Crosman140, that helps alot!
I do find the forum search a little hit and miss at times, but seeing as I'm no computer wiz, (I won't tell you how long it took me to type this! ) I figured it was just me. I do usually find what I'm looking for though, I just take scenic route!
Now if you'll excuse me, I have to "google" something...

As I mentioned above, it is typical of search functions built in to forums. Google has spent millions perfecting theirs. Heck, why not use it.
Scenic route... That tickled me. |
