If I were going to go buy a very basic new scope- for example a 3-9x40 non-AO- who has the best product when speaking about Simmons, Leapers or that new Crosman line; CenterPoint?
The idea is we're talking about relatively low-end stuff- but which of those would be the best choice? Or, is there another lower-end option I haven't thought of? |

I dont know anything about simmons and Leapers but I think centerpoint looks pretty cool. On their website they have them mounted on muzzleloaders and those things kick a lot so i figure they'd probably hold up pretty well on airguns |

I didn't realize BSA had scopes in that price-range. Hmmm.
The Center-Point scopes I'm not entirely sure about- they are new, obviously a "Made in China" product (not that the Leapers or Simmons aren't- but at least they've been around for awhile) and very few people seem to have yet to buy one and try it out. Maybe that's a reason to buy one right there- so I can "guinea pig" for Crosman. |

Centerpoint is made in the Leapers plant AFAIK . . . BSA are assembled in the Philippines unless it is old Japanese stock. The Japanese BSA I have won't ever be sold. |

I have two centerpoint 4x16x40 which I bought at Walmart for 69.95 ea. I like them a lot. I have to put the batteries in and see what the illuminated reticle is like. The claim on the box is Shockproof. One on PCP and ONe on a CO2 gun. I have not had a lot of scopes in my time--these seem very good for the price. I have a Simmons 6x18x40 Pro air that is a fine scope as well--I was very impressed when I got it since I bought it used on a rifle. |

I like to avoid buying chinese cause it's bad but just like Japan made stuff was bad then, which got better with time, it's still bad but I bought a chinese rifle called the Phantom.
So far I love it though I haven't done anything to it, still waitng for my GRX trigger or GRT or whatever that's suppose to help the trigger pull on that one.
I forgot what I was getting too...darn
