It's an interesting sounding gun- but I have yet to bump into someone who claims to own one. I don't know why this is. Perhaps people still view alot of Czechoslovakian made airgun as somewhat sub-standard? The price of the Alfa target rifle isn't quite "cheap" at around $600- so who knows.

It appears to have all the "usual" feature for a target gun- proper sights, adjustable butt pad, etc., and the company's sponsored shooter seem to have done well at shooting competitions.

Maybe you will have to be the "guinea pig" on this gun. I gather from looking around that it is not a terribly widely-stocked gun- maybe if it was the price would be a bit lower. It apparently will use a remote fill or 12g caplets- and it claims 7g caplets as well- but those aren't common in North America.

Perhaps the question we should ask is: Why, precisely do you not find the Avanti 888 working for you? If we can narrow this down, perhaps a good suggestion could be made on a gun more people are familiar with?

I mostly shoot high end Black powder cartridge rifles at silhouettes and 1000 yard .I wanted an air gun to practice off hand but the Daisy has very crude front sight inserts and the trigger is pretty stiff .I put a longer adjusting screw in it and that has taken all the creep out but didnt lighten the pull up any . Not sure if the trigger assembly is the same, but look at this 10P file

From Pilkington Competition Equipment 10P Files

It's a Co² gun- so the trigger is being loaded by a spring- either one dedicated to the trigger or one loading the sear and riding up against the trigger. Unfortunately, I don't have a diagram for the 888- but for the sake of example- I will assume it's vaguely the same as the 853. If you look at the last picture in the link 23iBdOn posted- it looks like the spring located in front of the installed screw is pre-loading things- making for a harder or softer trigger pull. In your case, if you replaced the spring that is loading the trigger with a weaker unit- you would also lower the pull required to release it.

Anyone around here have a diagram or picture of the 888 for reference?
