I have some old pellets that I had for my old pump pellet/BB gun. Anyway the new pellets I got all look dark compared to the old ones I have which look dry and way lighter. The black colour is probably graphite. Some pellets, as SMP menioned come with graphite or even lead dust in the packaging- which also won't hurt anything, but might necessitate cleaning your barrel a bit more often. The old pellets, at absolute worst, might have some oxidation on them from any impurities in the lead- either way- shoot them. _________________ ` I'd say "I care." But I'd be lying.
