I was looking at the crown of my big cat today and I decided to put a pellet in that I had colored with a black marker because it looked like there was a bur in the crown. the pellet just fell in and stopped about 1/2" to 3/4". Is it supposed to be that loose that the pellet just falls in. The same pellet fits tight in the breach. The pellets are CPHP's.

I don't know if it's supposed to, but I just tried it in my Big Cat and the CPHP went in about an inch. I smoothed the crown shortly after I got it just to make sure it was good. Accuracy with the CPHPs has always been acceptable.

Mine's not quite that good, but no squirrel out to 25 yards is safe! Smile

The BC doesn't even have rifling for the last inch of the barrel unless they changed the design, I'd think the crown is actually inside the tube and the rest is for crown protection or something. IIRC pellets fit pretty loose in the smooth part when I had mine
