Hey all, will shooting bb's in my remington CM77 air rifle ruin the rifling in the barrel? Also what bb's would you recommend I use for accuracy?
Thanks all have a great day. Sunshine 2 TN |

| Yeah, BB's would probably damage it if not ruin it completely after the long term. Steel on steel is never good. Of course if the gun is a smoothbore( not sure if it is or not) It won't bother it much. If it was me though, I wouldn't use bbs in any gun except the ones that require it. I have a couple of pistols that are BB only but they are smoothbores. |

Welcome to the forum, sunshine 2 TN!
I agree with oddtodd. Pellets will be more accurate, anyway. |

the only BBs that should be used are the Gamo lead ones...
Stay well away from steel BBs...
but lead pellets will be far better as has been said.... |

in the daisy 880 I run bb's threw it for unrully neighbor hood dogs that leave crap in my yard. I have know real clue if it helps or not, but I use copperheads as copper is softer(I think) than steel
When I'm really shooting it the pellets are still on the money
Just two pennies in the bucket |

The copper coating is extremely thin. |

It's the same gun as the 2100, both state they can shoot either type of ammo. I haven't put any bb's through my 2100, but the one I had growing up killed more than a few squirrels with bb's, 2 shots or less, and they were all shots from inside a window to the line of trees in my backyard which is a good 25-30 yards.
But if you're just warding off dogs why waste a good pellet? |
