I am contemplating on purchasing one of those PCP air rifles, got my eye on a XS-B50.
My main concern is how many shots can one do with one of those rifles. I see tons of people talking about them, the power they deliver etc, but none state such info. |

From memory he said about 25 shots starting at 2600 psi down to about 1500 psi.... that was the sweet spot for a stock gun.... He's going to check his notes tomorrow and if this information is incorrect I'll update it....
I do remember him telling me that on a stock gun 3000 psi was too much, the valve was starting to lock up.... That's not all bad news, however.... It means you can get quite a few fills from a 3000 psi SCUBA tank....

| I saw an extensive "how-to", with lots of pix, about installing an andruis rgeulator in on eof those B50's...from what I remember, it significantly increased the usable shot count..might be something to keep in mind, if you DO get a B50...might be something you'd want to do later on.... |

Bear in mind that any regulator installed directly in front of the valve will work better when set for slightly reduced performance (ie a lower pressure).... They get the increased shot count from a slight decrease in power but enable the gun to be filled to the 3000 psi design limit without the valve going into lock....
For instance, it would be typical for a regulator for a gun such as the B50 to be set at between 100 and 120 Bar (1450-1750 psi).... and the velocity similar (or a bit less) to what you would get at that air pressure....
