I want to stock up on some various sizes of O-rings for my HPA projects.... I have a sizing chart but I need to know whether I should be getting 70 durometer or 90 durometer and what material.... or if I should have more than one type, what are the different uses?....
I have some Dow Corning Molykote 55 lubricant (thanks to ralphtonka) for HPA use.... For some uses (FTP in a pumper, or in a CO2 valve, for instance) they will be exposed to oil.... any special considerations for the FTP seal use?....

I keep a stock of Vitron O-Rings (fluoro rubber) for all my steam models etc, these run at temperatures from cold water to hp steam, in a variety of lubricants, especially pistons and pumps. So having them on stock I use them for all my airgun needs, and so far no problems.
I'm not saying these are the best for your projects but they are a good general propose seal that stands up to friction and heat very well.

Sounds like that Viton would be an excellent choice for the seal on a FTP of a pumper....
Anybody else RE O-rings for HPA?.... and the hardness?....

I use 90 on the bolt probe of the career as
they get a hard time going though the mag..
But still replace the every 500 or so shots.. |

| I'm guessing that the PCP airguns were made to use the existing HPA o-rings that are available for scuba gear. On ebay there are scuba o-ring assortment kits as well as Viton and Buna rubber assortment kits. Take a look see. |

Air gun makes don't make there own O-rings..they buy them in...
just like car makers don't make the seals & berrings they use
they buy them in..
I keep a few diffrent sizes of O-ring section on hand..
cut , glue and yer got what ever size yer need...if yer
not got one the right size...
